

CHELSEA RIVERSIDE ART COMPETITION 2010
The Cheyne Walk Trust is mounting an Art Competition to celebrate its connection with Chelsea Riverside over 35 years in 2010.
The Competition will be jointly sponsored with Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, established in 1845, which in May 2008 moved to a splendid new purpose built building in the Lot’s Road. The Competition proceeds will fund a Bursary for a young artist at Heatherley's School of Fine Art
Final date for return of Entry Forms will now be the same as the submission day, namely Saturday 10 April 2010 at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art.
A first prize of £500.00 will be offered by the Cheyne Walk Trust and a special prize of £500.00 for the best work by a young artist (under 26) will be offered by the Chelsea Arts Club Trust. Further prizes and sponsorship are being sought, including support for the reception and prize giving evening at Heatherley’s.
Pictures will be exhibited at Heatherley's at a Free Exhibition from 18 April - 22 April 2PM - 6PM
The Competition will be judged by a panel Chaired by John Walton, Principal of Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, and Prizes will be awarded by well known artist Ken Howard at a Reception, Prize Ceremony and Auction at Heatherley’s at 6.30 PM on 22 April 2010. Proceeds from the event will go towards funding a bursary at Heatherley’s to assist potentially young gifted artists.
The Auction on 22 April, to be conducted by Nick Bonham, will be of selected works by artists including: Julian Barrow; Jane Corsellis; Dennis Gilbert; Ken Howard; Hugh Krall; Bill Packer; Melissa Scott-Miller; Hazel Soan; and others to be confirmed including Competition Prize-winners.
